About Loud Hound

I'm Helen. I've spent eight years as a dog groomer, and the last three living with Juno, my long-coat German Shepherd, who gets mistaken for everything from a wolf to something to cross the street from, when really she's just enormous and loves an outfit.

When I went looking for a collar for her, I found two options. Plain, heavy tactical gear in black, navy, or red, built for a working dog rather than a family pet. Or genuinely beautiful, fashion led collars, but only ever in small sizes, made for dogs half Juno's size. Nothing in between. Nothing said your dog can be strong and still have personality.

So I designed the one I couldn't find. Because beautiful collars shouldn't stop at small.

Grooming is where this really comes from. Day in, day out, I see what an ill-fitting collar does to a dog. Webbing too thin for a big dog's frame, matting hidden underneath, collars too loose, too narrow, or just badly fitted for a large breed. I know what a poorly chosen collar looks like because I see it on my table every week, and that's exactly why width, fit, and materials were never an afterthought with Loud Hound.
